Day 1: Travel
Saturday
- Arrive at San Salvador’s Comalapa International Airport (SAL)
- Greeted at airport by Habitat El Salvador staff
- Transported to accommodations in San Salvador
- Walking tour of San Salvador
Day 2: Orientation
Sunday
- Cultural activity
- Travel to affiliate and tour regional office (Santa Ana)
- Travel to hotel near work site in Ahuachapan
- Orientation and welcome
- Dinner and overnight at accommodations
Days 3-6: Build
Monday-Thursday
- Breakfast at accommodations
- Transport from accommodations to the project site
- Work from 8:00am – 4:00pm with scheduled breaks
- Worksite orientation, including health and safety
- Lunch at worksite
- Transport from worksite back to accommodations
- Time for cultural activities
- Dinner and overnight at accommodations
Day 7: Celebrate
Friday
- Breakfast at accommodations
- Transport from accommodations to the project site
- Work half day
- Lunch at worksite
- Farewell celebration in the afternoon
- Time for cultural activities
- Dinner and overnight at accommodations
Day 8: Explore
Saturday
- Travel to full-day cultural activity
- Dinner and overnight at accommodations
Day 9: Goodbyes
Sunday
- Breakfast at accommodations
- Departure day
Your GV trip cost includes donations to Habitat for Humanity El Salvador and Habitat for Humanity International, meals, accommodations, transport (excluding airfare), predetermined cultural activities, health, accident, emergency evacuation insurance, and team coordination from HFHI and the host program.
The trip cost does not include airfare, R&R activities, or visa and exit fees (where applicable).
Team members arriving earlier or staying later than the designated trips dates are responsible for their own transport, hotel arrangements and payments.
