Congratulations to Our Latest Scholarship Winners!

One of the most gratifying times to work with Atlanta Habitat homeowners and their neighbors is after they’ve settled into their new homes or gotten used to the critical home repairs that make life easier and their homes more affordable.
That’s when we are able to offer opportunities to thrive beyond the build. Vision. Goals. Action! (VGA) helps to change the lives of eligible Atlanta Habitat homeowners through scholarship and grant awards. It also includes several personal and professional development opportunities.
For those homeowners who dive in and go for their goals, Atlanta Habitat is a resource to dream big and make those dreams a reality. For the five winners of our most recent scholarship competition, graduating from college and making a positive impact in the world is both the goal and the dream. With that we proudly congratulate:
Sonteria – $2,500
- Sonteria is an Atlanta Habitat homeowner who has lived in her home for more than 11 years. She is Business major at Atlanta Metropolitan College and aspires to become a personal trainer. Having lost more than 55 pounds through consistency and hard work, she hopes to own a gym and help others attain a healthy lifestyle.
Camille – $1,500
- Atlanta native Camille is a rising sophomore at Grambling State University whose goal is to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and become a Registered Nurse specializing in labor and delivery. She completed her first year of college on the Dean’s List with a 3.8 GPA.
Taniya – $1,000
- Taniya, a graduate of The Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy, attends Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, She is majoring in biology/pre-med. She plans to pursue a career as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
Toniesha (Toni) – $1,000
- Toni has been an Atlanta Habitat homeowner since 2016. She graduated Savannah State University in 2010 with a BS in Biology with a minor in chemistry. Starting this fall, Toni is completing the University of Connecticut’s Master of Clinical Genetics and Genomics Graduate Certificate Program to increase her expertise as a scientist in all things blood and DNA related.
Veronica – $1,000
- Veronica is currently a third-year senior at Cincinnati’s Xavier University majoring in Criminal Justice. Following graduation, Veronica plans to address criminal justice reform and rehabilitation while continuing her educational journey to earn a Juris Doctor degree.
