Board energized to launch bold new strategic plan
ATLANTA – Atlanta Habitat for Humanity announces longtime board member Darryl A. Hicks as chair of Atlanta Habitat’s board of directors for 2016-2018. The nonprofit homebuilder also named to the board: Darryl Lesure, Senior Manager, Supply Chain for Chick-fil-A; Eric Hilton, partner at Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young, LP and Susan Boyd, managing partner at S. Boyd Holdings, LLC.
Hicks, a financial advisor with Mass Mutual Financial Group/Capstone Financial, is poised to lead the organization through a new strategic phase which includes considerable expansion — in both scope and impact— of its mission. He has been involved with Atlanta Habitat since 1992.
“Mr. Hicks’ long-term passion for Atlanta Habitat is apparent in everything he does, so he is uniquely qualified to help us deploy our new strategic direction,” says Atlanta Habitat President and CEO Lisa Y. Gordon. “As we grow into our new role as a key neighborhood revitalization force in Atlanta, Darryl will support our team as we create catalytic change in targeted neighborhoods and increase our financial strength and organizational capacity.”
Atlanta Habitat’s board members are volunteers who come from a variety of backgrounds with the resources, wisdom, and passion to lead in constructive, effective, and meaningful ways. The Atlanta Habitat board is responsible for setting the overall direction of the organization including strategy, goals, finances, and policies.
