Atlanta Habitat salutes volunteers for a record-breaking year
April 20, 2018
Each year more than 13,000 volunteers pick up a hammer to build a house, teach a class of new homeowners about budgeting, help customers in the Atlanta Habitat ReStore, and much more to empower Atlanta Habitat families.
This Sunday, Atlanta’s largest nonprofit homebuilder caps off National Volunteer Week with a salute to volunteers at the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity 19th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception. Volunteers will be recognized with the Volunteer of the Year, Presidential Volunteer Service, Next Generation and Century Club awards. The Century Club is an elite membership of volunteers who serve 100+ hours. In 2017, there were 116 Century Club members—the largest in Atlanta Habitat’s history. Among those honorees are 27 members who invested more than 250 hours of their time to help Atlanta Habitat achieve a record-breaking year in 2017.
Atlanta Habitat empowered 123 new families in 2017, the largest in the organization’s history, through homeownership and critical home repairs. It makes an annual $6 million economic investment in Atlanta.
