Habi-Hereos: Pat Flood

  • Post category:Blog Post

We are incredibly grateful for the many ways we have been able to serve the beautiful city of Atlanta. Building homes for our community may be the ultimate goal but the relationships we build with people throughout the process is the cherry on top. Today we begin a series called Habi-Heroes to show our appreciation for some of those individuals who we are honored to call friends.

A Habi-Hero is someone who inspires others. They are connected to our mission and never shy away from the hard work it takes to get there. Their selflessness is undeniable, and you can see it in their endless dedication to helping others in any way possible.

Who better to start off our Habi-Heroes series than Pat Flood, someone whose unstoppable giving has inspired us all.

As a leader, Pat is committed to putting people first. An authentic effort that, in combination with his strength of character, earned him recognition as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Most Admired CEO’s in 2018.

As CEO of Supreme Lending Southeast, Pat has certainly built a work environment worth emulating, as it has been named the Top Work Place in Atlanta by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for three consecutive years. Consistent praise and gratitude pour from the organization’s members in response to the gift of happiness in their work lives. Their fondness for the culture of care and support that defines Supreme Lending, is what inspires them to serve others with same level of care and authenticity.

And just like that, in addition to his organization’s sponsorship of homes with Atlanta Habitat, comes an army of volunteers eager to complete builds for our homeowners.

“Serving others before self” is not simply a philosophy written in the Supreme Lending handbook. It is a very real way of living life for each of the organization’s members. Pat’s expansion of this philosophy to all those he encounters is truly something to admire. Since his relationship with Habitat began, 35 homes ago, Flood has dedicated himself to helping people to attain the most meaningful ownership of their lives with tangible support and thoughtful action. Atlanta Habitat has had the honor of working alongside him for 15 of those homes and looks forward to many more.

As we approach our 40th anniversary, it will take generous and selfless givers to reach our ambitious goal of 40 new homes for our 40th year. It is of course no surprise that Pat Flood and the Supreme Lending family have doubled their commitment to two homes for the occasion. Though it was not a banner year for the organization, Flood reminded us all, in the dedication of this year’s home, that it is most important to give more when you have less. For Flood, the most meaningful moment for service is when the gift is a sacrifice.

Atlanta Habitat would like to express our gratitude for Pat Flood’s unwavering belief in the principles of servitude and love for his fellow human beings.
