A new Atlanta Habitat partner hopes of rekindling a family pastime. Your Family’s Table is donating a dining set to Atlanta Habitat families as they move into their new homes.

Tom Schulte, president and CEO of Your Family’s Table, has been a longtime Atlanta Habitat volunteer, and after working in the nonprofit sector, Tom became familiar with the increasing need he saw in various communities such as Atlanta. Shortly after his retirement, Tom started the nonprofit organization to build and donate beautiful, rustic farmhouse dining tables to families building a home for themselves.

The mission of Your Family’s Table is to strengthen the family unit by providing a place for the family to gather: a dining table where family, friends and neighbors connect to share special memories and spend quality time together.

“These specially crafted tables facilitate conversations in a time where the family is more important than ever. Along with a home they have built, families can gather around their table daily and share moments that might otherwise be lost,” says Schulte, who honed his woodworking skills as a volunteer in the Atlanta Habitat warehouse for nearly a decade.

We are thankful for this generous offering. It promises to make these dreams come true and so much more for our hardworking families.”

Recently, the Blount family received their table after moving into their new Atlanta Habitat home in May 2020. Tom and his team personally delivered the table and was delighted to see the joy his mission brought to the Blount family. Your Family’s Table plans to build and donate at least 50 tables to Atlanta Habitat families each year.
