National Volunteer Week: A Special Message From Our CEO

  • Post category:CEO Corner

Dear Atlanta Habitat Volunteer,

Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 19-25) gives us a focused opportunity to salute our volunteers’ commitment to Atlanta Habitat. We’re shining the spotlight on you: the amazing people whose kind and consistent service transform our communities. I am always struck by the humility, compassion and passion that you, our treasured volunteers, bring to everything you do.

Whether at the ReStore, build-site, teaching a class, or an event where we fellowship together, your love of our mission, families and neighborhoods is always apparent. Saying “thank you” just does not seem to capture the depth of our appreciation for the way you share your time, talents and treasure with us. Every day, your commitment and sacrifice–to show up on time with a smile on your face–touches so many lives, many more than you know or realize.

As we deal with an unprecedented health and economic crisis from the impact of coronavirus, your kindness and support to our organization are magnified as we shelter at home. We look forward to working together again when its safe for all of us to do so. In 2019, your collective service of 121,410 hours translated into an investment of $3.09 million in helping us to advance our mission. Without your assistance on builds, in the office, ReStore, or on one of the teams who coach, mentor, and educate our homeowners, we could not have served over 200 new families.

The passionate commitment that you bring to Atlanta Habitat’s mission is priceless, and it exponentially impacts our families and communities. The entire team at Atlanta Habitat and the families we serve are deeply grateful to you. We hope that you and your family are safe. We all look forward to connecting with you soon.

Sincerely,

Lisa Y. Gordon, CPA
