While 70 percent of Atlanta Habitat homeowners are single, working moms, we want to take this Father’s Day to recognize single dads who have also achieved homeownership through Atlanta Habitat’s first-time homebuyer program. For instance, Anthony, a car dealership oil technician who is determined to provide the best life possible for the son he’s raising on his own. After working full-time while building his new home, Anthony celebrated his home dedication and his son’s birthday on the same day. He says the two of them will never forget it.

There’s a saying: “You cannot be what you cannot see.” Anthony is proud that his son can now say, “If my dad can do this, I think I can do this. Matter of fact, I know I can do this.”
